Here is the latest Newsletter and Trek notes for the next ride on the March Long Weekend. For those wanting to ride for the whole three day weekend, you will need to pay your membership fees before the weekend also, which are detailed in the post below.  For those joining for the first time, there is a one off joining fee of $20.00, so please add this to your membership fee.  You can use the same Membership Event form for both registering for the ride as well as for membership.

MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 2012 HAVE REMAINED THE SAME AND ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Adult Members – $60.00

Junior Members – $50.00

Social Members (Non-riding, no voting rights) – $40.00

Please send in your membership forms and fees as soon as possible!!!

PLEASE NOTE:  MEMBERS attending the weekend for riding will have to pay their membership along with the ride fee as outlined in the newsletter.  Please read carefully.

There is no charge for attending the AGM only.  See you there.

TREKKERS TRIBUNE January 2012

At Irene Taaffe’s, 13 Cronin Street, Manjimup, followed by a Club provided BBQ dinner.

The AGM will be incorporated in a ride event from 26th January to 29th January 2012. Ride notes to follow soon.

Hello ATHRA Members,

Unfortunately this year so far nothing has officially been organised for this event, however as ATHRA members we are all able to attend each other’s club rides under the same insurance, so may I extend an invitation to all ATHRA  members to attend the WA Horse Trekkers ride in Pickering Brook on the 28^th, 29^th and 30^th October 2011.  Full Details and Forms are in the documents below.

Hello Everyone,

First of all WELCOME BACK to all our members who were lucky enough to go up to Challa Station for our Annual trek!!  I can’t wait to hear the stories around our next camp fire, and also see all the photos I hope you all took!!!

It looks like out of this trek we might have another ATHRA club forming up there, which is great!! Don’t forget that as a member of ATHRA you can join any affiliated club for their rides at minimal cost as you don’t have to pay your insurance again!  You might just need to pay their membership fee and any ride fees.

Also a reminder that our next planned trek is on the long weekend at the end of October up at Pickering Brook.  Please have your forms in one week before the trek and if you are bringing a cart, let Margaret T know as soon as possible so she can make sure the rides accommodate the cart.  Full details in the trek notes I have attached.

As we now also seem to have a few members in the Metropolitan area and a bit beyond I am considering organising some day rides around the area.  It would be great if we all get to visit each other’s riding areas, so if anyone would like to host a ride for just a day, or half day please let me know.   Some of the suggested places I can think of that we can ride are

Wungong Valley
Jarrahdale – Langford Park and Alcoa old mine site roads
Jandakot Regional Park
Darling Downs Byford
Oakford Trails
Serpentine National Park
John Forrest National Park

Any other suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

To kick this off I am happy to host a ride up the Wungong Valley on Saturday, 15^th October starting at 10.00am.  Trek notes for this are attached.
